Highly anticipated Chick-Fil-A to open in Plainfield
February 27, 2020
The Joliet zoning board has signed to the agreement of building a Chick-Fil-A on 2705 Plainfield Road.
This decision was made on Jan. 23, and construction and opening of the restaurant should be happening in the summer of this year according to the Joliet Patch.
“We are always evaluating potential new locations in the hopes of serving existing and new customers great food with remarkable service,” Jackie Jags, worker at Chick-fil-A Inc said.
The location of this Chick-Fil-A will be constructed where the Loan Star Steakhouse used to be. The restaurant was closed in 2016 due to the co founder of the restaurant, Scott smith not agreeing with the direction of the company, according to the Herald News.
“I used to have to drive about 30 minutes to Chick-Fil-A and for it now to be closer is super convinient as it is one of my favorite restaurants,” Pooja Parikh, senior, said.
According to Readers Digest, Chick-Fil-A has the number one best customer service in the United states, beating Whataburger and In-n-out. The results came from “Newsweek” in which a survey was done by 20,000 people asking what they believe has the best customer service regarding “quality of communication, professional competence, range of services, customer focus, and accessibility” Readers Digest said.
“I’ve never been there, but I’ve heard how polite their staff is, and once it opens I’m definitely going to be trying it,” Daniel Cuevas, senior, said.
Chick-fil-A was founded by S.Truett Cathy, an American businessman and investor. The company has a focus on eating more chicken, instead of meat from cows, according to the Chick Fil-A website. Other famous products on their menus include their waffle fries, their lemonade, their signature Chick- Fil-A sauce, their custom made milkshakes, and their chicken sandwiches.
“I really love their chicken sandwiches and fries, they have a lot of flavor and you can tell they really take their time to make them,” Jeniah Anderson, junior ,said.
Other locations of this reasturant are in Aurora, Elmhurst, and Boilingbrook, and this Chick-Fil-A will be the first in Joliet.
