Placing 5th overall, nine students competed in 12 out of 20 categories at the Minooka invitational on Saturday, Feb. 23.

”I’m so proud of every student who competed!” Renee Nieckula, adviser, said. “To place 5th without even having entries in 8 categories is amazing!”

1st Review writing – Stephanie Wallace, junior
2nd Feature writing- Wallace
2nd Editorial Writing – Elizabeth Hsieh, senior
3rd Feature writing- Wright
3rd Advertising – Raven Easterly, sophomore
3rd Newspaper Design – Hsieh
4th Editorial Cartooning – Kopek
6th Editorial Cartooning – Easterly

The team is now looking to qualify for state at the IHSA sectional competition on April 13.
