For the final Tastes with Ty-
ler, Barrel & Vine was the res-
taurant of choice.
Service was sensational,
and the vibes of the restau-
rant were top tier. All the
food and drinks came out
extremely fast. They feature
two mocktails, one based on
a mimosa and the other on a
blueberry mojito. The orange
flavored drink is a bit on the
sweeter side, but is very well
done. The mimosa based
drink had orange juice with
coconut flavored syrup. The
blueberry one was more tart
than was expected. the lime
took away from the blueberry
juice. flavor shining through.
The charcuterie board is one
of their specialties. It comes
with apples, apricot and rasp-
berry jams, pickles, and green
olives along with a choice of
five total meats and cheeses.
My choices were the prosciut-
to di parma, rosemary ham,
vintage van gogh gouda, brie,
and white cheddar. It was ab-
solutely perfect in every sense
of the word. The one thing
that was slightly disappoint-
ing was the green olives, but
that comes down to my per-
sonal taste.
For the entree I tried the ri-
beye steak sandwich. It came
with arugula, sweet peppers,
caramelized onions, and a
sunny side up egg.
The steak was tender, juicy,
and grilled to perfection with
excellent flavor. The onions
and peppers added a delight-
ful freshness to the sandwich
while the arugula added a
perfect amount of peppery
flavor that mixed well with
the steak. The richness of the
yolk ties the whole sandwich
together.
For dessert I had the salt-
ed caramel cookie skillet; a
chocolate chip cookie cov-
ered in a warm salted caramel
sauce, vanilla ice cream and
whipped cream. The dessert
was sensational, as the vari-
ety in temperatures and tex-
tures made no bite boring.
Barrel & Vine, although new,
is one of the best restaurants
in Plainfield. It is definitely
worth the price because they
boast high quality food in
high quantities. They offer so
many options from countries
around the world. If you are
looking to expand your ho-
rizons or a nice date night,
definitely go to Barrel & Vine.
I rate my final restaurant ex-
perience a perfect 5 out of 5
